The Pink Coat

Hello! It's Monday morning here in Hanoi and although it was predicted that the super typhoon would hit us today and it would rain heavily all day, the rain actually stopped at 8.30 in the morning. It is actually a good thing as I don't need to get out of the house to go to work, instead I'm just gonna stay at home and work on my laptop all day.

I know I wrote a blog post about pink when I first started blogging. But I still want to write another one today as pink is huge at the moment and it is desperately needed on gloomy days like this. I've been on a crappy mood since I got back so I think a little pink would do me some good too.

I spotted a Topshop baby pink fluffy swing coat 2 months ago when I was still living in England and it took me 1 month to decide whether I should buy it because it was way out of my budget at that time. And by the time I finally said to myself "Screw it, I'm gonna buy the coat. It's not like I'll find another one like this anytime soon.", it is out of stock at my local store in Norwich :(

I think everyone needs a baby pink coat, whether they like pink or not. It's not the easiest colour to wear but it brings brightness, playfulness and fun to any outfits. I searched all over the internet for something similar to the Topshop coat and found these (below). They are not quite as perfect as the Topshop one but they look great too! I also added the Topshop coat to this photo so that you can see and even buy it if you're a size UK12 :D

If you live in Vietnam, I know it's probably hard to get these products, so here is a very cute pink coat from a Vietnamese brand. I quite like their designs although I haven't got any salary coming in yet so it will be a long way until I can afford to buy their products.

Everything quilted

One of the reasons why I want to stay here in the UK instead of going back to Vietnam is that I would probably be able get more inspirations for new blog posts by walking around Norwich (or any other cities here for that matter) than walking around Hanoi. Trends can easily be spotted as you walking into any fashion stores like Topshop, River Island, New Look or even Primark. I can hardly ever buy anything from Primark but one look at their store and I can spot at least 3 different trends!

I walked in Primark last week with three other interns as we were "doing trends research" for the company. We saw a great selection of tartan clothes (trousers, shorts, tops, etc.), leather pieces, fluffy cardigan (which I'll soon do a post about) and a bunch of quilted pieces. I love quilted pieces hence this new post was created.

I've wanted a great quilted leather skirt since last year, but I spent my money so quickly that I could never have any spare money to spend on it. This time it is a bit different as I actually have some money to spend and now that I decided not to spend my money on a new phone, I can spend most of them on clothes and accessories!

So, here is my (definitely) unobtainable wish list:

And here is the (probably) affordable wish list:

1. River Island hat £18 - 2. boohoo.com jacket £10 - 3. Topshop sweat £38 - 4. ASOS top £36 - 5. New Look shorts £24.99 - 6. Pull & Bear skirt £22.99

I've already bought a short sleeve quilted top from Primark last week (for £6!) and am looking for the perfect leather jacket (boohoo.com's leather jacket looks really tempting to me but the smallest size they have is 8, which is such a shame because I'm a 6!)

Which one of these lovely quilted pieces would you buy? Leave a comment below to let me know.

Tartan Tartan

Hi again! I know I've been a horrible blogger. I've been very busy working 9-5:30pm then 6-11pm almost everyday and I physically can't find any free time update the blog :(. Anyway, working here as an intern has its perk. I meet some wonderful people and get the chance to participate in different roles in the company.

Back to today post, I have seen a looooot of tartan lately. From designers like Preen to high street and bargain brands like Primark. I love tartan but I don't have anything tartan in my closet. I guess this is time to invest in some good tartan stuffs like trousers or dresses (have I told you that I'm obsessed with printed/patterned trousers?).

Here are some of my favourite tartan trousers:

Paige £210 - Mango £34.99 - Urban Outfitter £48 - Preen £506

I can't afford to buy them all but I guess I may be able to invest in a really great pair like Paige's one as I really love the colour but Mango's one is a great and cheaper alternative. Urban Outfitter's pair is great too but as I'm petite, it will probably not look good on me; it might looks nice on taller people though.

Which pair would you buy? Leave a comment below to let me know.
