The Pink Coat

Hello! It's Monday morning here in Hanoi and although it was predicted that the super typhoon would hit us today and it would rain heavily all day, the rain actually stopped at 8.30 in the morning. It is actually a good thing as I don't need to get out of the house to go to work, instead I'm just gonna stay at home and work on my laptop all day.

Bây giờ (lúc mình bắt đầu viết những dòng này) là sáng thứ hai ở và mặc dù như dự báo thời tiết thì hôm nay bão về, trời sẽ mưa to suốt cả ngày, nhưng sáng nay lúc mình ngủ dậy chuẩn bị đi làm thì trời đã tạnh mưa hẳn rồi. Kể ra thì thế cũng tốt vì tự dưng mình được cho làm việc ở nhà thay vì phải đến công ty như mọi khi.

I know I wrote a blog post about pink when I first started blogging. But I still want to write another one today as pink is huge at the moment and it is desperately needed on gloomy days like this. I've been on a crappy mood since I got back so I think a little pink would do me some good too.

Mình đã từng viết một bài về màu hồng khi mới lập blog này. Nhưng hôm nay mình vẫn muốn viết thêm 1 bài nữa về màu hồng vì bây giờ màu này đang khá là on trend và những ngày thời tiết như thế này thì màu hồng lại càng cần thiết hơn.

I spotted a Topshop baby pink fluffy swing coat 2 months ago when I was still living in England and it took me 1 month to decide whether I should buy it because it was way out of my budget at that time. And by the time I finally said to myself "Screw it, I'm gonna buy the coat. It's not like I'll find another one like this anytime soon.", it is out of stock at my local store in Norwich :(

Mình tìm được một chiếc áo khoác màu hồng nhạt cực kì xinh ở Topshop cách đây 2 tháng khi mà mình vẫn còn đang sống ở Anh và mình mất 1 tháng để quyết định xem có nên mua chiếc áo này ko vì ở thời điểm đấy mình đang cực kì thiếu tiền. Đến lúc mà mình quyết định mặc kệ tất cả và bỏ tiền ra mua áo thì hàng Topshop ở chỗ mình sống - Norwich đã ko còn hàng nữa :(

I think everyone needs a baby pink coat, whether they like pink or not. It's not the easiest colour to wear but it brings brightness, playfulness and fun to any outfits. I searched all over the internet for something similar to the Topshop coat and found these (below). They are not quite as perfect as the Topshop one but they look great too! I also added the Topshop coat to this photo so that you can see and even buy it if you're a size UK12 :D

Mình nghĩ là ai cũng cần có một chiếc áo khoác màu hồng nhạt, bất kể họ có thích màu hồng hay ko. Màu hồng ko phải là màu dễ kết hợp nhất nhưng nó mang lại sự tươi sáng và vui vẻ cho bất kì bộ trang phục nào. Mình đã tìm kiếm khắp nơi để tìm đc một chiếc áo tương tự như áo Topshop và tìm thấy những chiếc áo trong ảnh. Mặc dù ko phải chiếc nào cũng đẹp như chiếc áo mà mình thích, nhưng chiếc nào cũng rất xinh xD. Mình cũng cho luôn chiếc áo Topshop mà mình thích vào ảnh này (dòng 2, thứ 2 từ trái sang) để cho các bạn tham khảo.

If you live in Vietnam, I know it's probably hard to get these products, so here is a very cute pink coat from a Vietnamese brand. I quite like their designs although I haven't got any salary coming in yet so it will be a long way until I can afford to buy their products.

Moodboard: Knits

Hi again,

I started my new job last Thursday and I'm getting quite busy so I'm thinking about changing the blog a bit. There will be a short and images-filled post (hopefully) everyday with my daily inspiration, moodboard or one of the old post types (Steal it, How would I wear...?, etc.). I will also try to write a longer post and have a photoshoot every weekend.

We don't have much of a winter in Hanoi. I wasn't here during winter in the last 4 years so I can't remember how cold it normally gets or how long it normally lasts but it's already November and the weather is still hot and sunny all the time. However, there is a super typhoon coming in the next few days and I really hope it will get cold enough for me to wear knitted jumpers. I just love all knitted things and I desperately want a cotton candy pink chunky knitted jumper, especially one with turtle neck! (I'm serious so if anyone in Hanoi know where I can get one, please let me know. Thanks a bunch :*)

How I wear it: Leopard Ankle Boots

Hi there! Again, I'm a horrible blogger. I said I was back and I didn't post anything in the last 5 days. I've been lazy (again). The weather in Hanoi makes me so sleepy all the time and since I have no mean of transportations I just stay at home staring at the laptop all days and end up sleeping for a large portion of the day. Anyway, I just got a new scooter today and my dad will bring home his laptop tomorrow so I can go out to a coffee shop or somewhere outside my house to work on the blog. No more napping!

Vì bây giờ mình về VN hẳn rồi nên có lẽ nên thêm phần tiếng Việt vào blog cho mọi người dễ đọc hơn, đồng thời cũng để mình học viết tiếng Việt lại luôn vì về đây thấy dùng tiếng Việt còn khó khăn hơn cả dùng tiếng Anh. Mặc dù đã quyết định viết blog lại từ hôm CN nhưng mấy hnay mình vẫn quá là lười. Thời tiết Hà Nội bây giờ làm mình cực kì buồn ngủ, lại được thể suốt ngày phải ở nhà vì ko có xe cũng chẳng có ai qua đón đi chơi nên cả ngày mình chỉ có ở nhà ngủ thôi. Cũng may là hnay mình đã mua xe máy và tuần sau hi vọng bố mang laptop tử tế hơn về để mình có cái còn mang ra hàng cafe ngồi viết blog xD 

I was quite stuck coming up with a new topic for this post. Luckily, a lovely girl on Instagram asked me if I knew where to find flat leopard boots and I thought I should do a post on how to wear them. Leopard is major right now and I don't think lots of people dare to wear leopard printed boots.

Mình còn đang nghĩ mãi mà ko ra chủ đề gì cho post này thì được 1 bạn gái comment ảnh trên Instagram hỏi xem có biết mua bốt da báo đế bệt ở đâu ko. Nhân tiện bây giờ da báo vẫn khá là hot, mà mình cũng ko nghĩ là có nhiều bạn "dám" đi bốt in họa tiết da báo nên mình quyết định viết bài về đề tài này luôn.

I found these amazing pair of leopard printed ankle boots from Christian Louboutin today:

But, they are way too expensive for an unemployed university graduate like me so I kept searching and finally found these wonderful pair from River Island. My size is sadly out of stock but they still have size 4-7 which, I think, are worn by most people. However if your size is 3, 8 or 9, I strongly recommend you have a look at your local River Island store or on eBay.

Mình tìm thấy đôi bốt cực kì đẹp của Christian Louboutin (ảnh trên) khi đang làm research để viết bài. Nhưng mà với kinh phí hạn hẹp, lại còn chưa đi làm, mình thật sự ko dám nhìn giá luôn. Chuyển sang tìm ở các hãng rẻ hơn thì mình tìm được đôi bốt này của River Island. Cỡ mình đi bình thường là 3 (35-36) thì bị sold out mất rồi nhg các bạn nào chân to hơn tầm 37-40 thì vẫn còn hàng. Nếu mà chân bạn cũng bé như mình thì tốt nhất là nên ra trực tiếp hàng của RI (nếu có điều kiện) hoặc tìm mua trên eBay.

Brown pony hair leopard print Chelsea boots

I reckon the easiest way to wear a leopard printed item, or any printed item for that matter, is to wear it with black and white. I'd love to wear this pair of boots with a simple short (mid-thigh length) white shift dress or shirt dress with a chunky black cardigan, a long necklace and a few simple rings (I prefer gold for this outfit but I think silver is not a bad choice either).

Mình nghĩ cách đơn giản nhất để mặc đồ in họa tiết da báo, hoặc bất kì đồ in họa tiết nào khác, là mặc nó với đồ màu đen trắng. Mình rất thích đi đôi bốt này với một chiếc váy hoặc áo váy suông đơn giản, dài khoảng ngang đùi (vì chiều cao của mình khá khiêm tốn) cùng với một chiếc áo cardigan màu đen thật dày, vòng cổ dài và vài chiếc nhẫn mảnh đơn giản. Mình thích chọn trang sức kim loại vàng/mạ vàng cho bộ này nhưng mình nghĩ màu bạc cũng khá là hợp.

Apart from black and white, I think leopard goes really well with bright or neon yellow. Even with a little pop of neon yellow like a statement necklace or neon yellow nails would bring a lot of playfulness to your outfit. If you choose to wear leopard with neon yellow, remember to wear them with simple single coloured pieces like black or grey. Of course this just how I'm gonna wear them, if you choose to go bolder, you have to be really careful not to turn yourself into a parrot =)

Ngoài đen và trắng thì mình nghĩ họa tiết da báo rất hợp với màu vàng tươi hay vàng neon. Chỉ cần một chiếc vòng cổ hay một bộ móng màu vàng neon cũng đủ khiến cho bộ trang phục của bạn nổi bật hơn rồi. Nếu chọn mặc họa tiết da báo với màu vàng neon, mình nghĩ tốt nhất là nên mặc chúng cùng với các đồ một màu đơn giản như là màu đen hay màu xám nhạt. Tất nhiên đây chỉ là cách bản thân mình sẽ chọn để mặc đôi bốt da báo này thôi, nếu như muốn táo bạo hơn, bạn phải cực kì cẩn thận khi chọn đồ nếu ko muốn bị biến thành một con vẹt màu mè.

I'm back!

Hi guys, it's been so long!

Before today post, I'm just gonna tell you what I've been doing. I'm now back in Hanoi, living with my parents. It (living with parents) is such a normal thing here that when I told my mom I would probably move out when I can afford to (meaning when I get a job with reasonable salary), she went crazy. I will still try to move out as soon as I can though, it just doesn't feel right moving back in with your parents after 4 years living independently, 5,651 miles away from them. 

I'm back permanently now so I will be able to post more photos of myself as I have a few available photographers. I have so many topics that I want to write about and I will make a list to follow but if you have any suggestions, feel free to contact me.

Anyway, here is a start for a better blog :)

I've been staying at home for nearly two weeks. All I did was sleeping, eating, watching TV series on Netflix, watching TV and occasionally sending job application. So you can probably guess how excited I was when I could finally meet up with my friends and do a photoshoot for the blog.

The first photo was taken by me with my phone (as I was too lazy to take out my camera) but the rest was taken with my Nikon D80 by the lovely owner of The Crush <3

Please ignore the background and the expression on my face. I'll try harder to find better backgrounds and work harder on posing lol.

Lately

I'm a horrible blogger! I've been really lazy (again) after coming back home from LFW. I'm moving back to Vietnam next month and I haven't even started packing yet. I just started working at the restaurant again so I don't have much time in the evening and I spend half of my time in the morning and afternoon sleeping.

I still update my Instagram at least once a day so I suggest you follow me there for more updates (@thewardrobug). In the meantime, I will try to write a new post at least once a week. As I will be back in Hanoi next month and have a few photographers available, hopefully I will be able to post photos of myself and my daily outfit more :)

I will start writing more personal posts from now on so I hope you guys will still enjoy visiting and reading my blog!
